SPCC Finally Friday, SFYTT

hi! Here is my card for the SPCC Finally Friday challenge. This week was hosted by Heidi, an SPCC Diva, and her challenge to us was to create your own embellies from household items. Ooooh...I love adding something unusual and "free" (since I already own it, it is free, right?!?) to my cards! Everyone head on over to check out all the other fun entries and ideas! http://spcolorcombos.blogspot.com/2009/07/its-finally-friday-at-spcc.html My homemade embellies are the crossword puzzle which was cut from the local paper and my Dollarama chipboard, which was peeled and inked with Craft Ink (up close they look like suede they are so soft). I realize that's pushing the household items thing a bit, but truly...if you could see my craft area, you'd realize chipboard is a household item for me! LOL! (as I am sure it is for the rest of you out there in papercraft land!) The second challenge this was made for, is Jen DelMuro's sketch challenge at her "I Heart to Stamp" site. Click here for the fabby sketch, rules and all the other gorgeous entries http://iheart2stamp.com/2009/07/25/sketch-for-you-to-try-24/

Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):
Real Red Craft Ink, Kraft CS, Basic Black CS, Rockabilly Specialty DSP, Chipboard letters from Dollarama, Crossword from my local newspaper.

Hey there girls...

where you been? Sorry...just quoting a fave song of mine...by the artist "Robin". My brother, Scott gave me the CD for my Birthday and I CAN NOT stop listening to it. Although, admittedly, I skip MANY of the songs in the car when the kids are with me.......TOTALLY not appropriate language for kids...........eeks!

Ok, onto my bows. Many have been asking how I tie them, and let me tell you.....READY? I tie them upside down! Seriously. Pull out all your ribbon, but leave it atached to the spool (we HATE to waste precious ribbon, right?!?), then FLIP your project so the bottom is towards you, but still face up, and tie it upside down. VOILA! The perfect bow! (at least I hope so...it's been perfect for everyone else I've told this "secret" to!)

Now. Having said that...I literally double sided taped a bow to L'il C's head for the first 2 years of her life. So, maybe I am just used to tying upside down. And before we get all judge-y here....both my kids and myself were totally BALD until we were 2. I lived with a bow stuck to my head for that long, so she will be PERFECTLY fine too. ;o)

Let me know if it works!

Hugs,
Robbyn

SPCC #7

Hi all! We had a great weekend at the beach, returned late yesterday afternoon, and after 4 days of no creativity...I sat and did 8 challenges (in 4 cards) last night...here starts the ride! This card was made for Samantha's fantastic Scrapmasters Paradise Color Challenge #7. Check out this link for the color swatch, the rules and all the other gorgeous entries http://spcolorcombos.blogspot.com/2009/07/due-to-dt-announcement-i-am-holding-off.html I (think I) keep whining about not having the new in colors yet...sorry all, but here I go again! Wah Wah Wah! Ok, done! ;o) Mine should be arriving in the near future, but in the mean time I had to fake the Bermuda Bay with the ribbon and DSP, both from Dollarama.

Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):
Summer Sun Classic Ink, Old Olive CS, Very Vanilla CS, Stamp set is called Enjoy the Little Things I think??? I should really not be so lazy and look it up! It was my very 1st SU! set, and I tore the label, so didn't think it was a big deal not to attach it...how wrong I was! LOL! Button from Forever in Time, Ribbon and DSP from Dollarama.

OCCC (pets), SPCC (colors) and MOJO95 (layout)

Hi all! I have to say I am really loving this card! The dog TOTALLY reminds me of my Great Dane (Scooby), although this one is OBVIOUSLY better behaved ! LOL! (For all you Scooby fans out there...he has slept for TWO nights in a row! I don't know what to do with myself I am sooooooooooo rested!!!)

This is for 3 challenges this week, the color challenge at Samantha's SPCC (link here for the deets spcolorcombos.blogspot.com/2009/07/sp-color-combo-6.html ) which I had to take a little leeway with. Since I am not an SU! "dealer", I won't get my "In Colors" through my club order until the end of July...I had to make due with the buttons from Forever in Time to approximate the Rich Razzleberry...hope this works well enough for you Samantha!). The Our Creative Corner Challenge, was to make a card with Pets as a theme, so voila the Great Dane! For rules and other creations, link here ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/2009/07/occ-challenge-pet... . The third challenge was this fantastic layout, created by the ladies at Mojo Monday, click here for the rules and entries mojomonday.blogspot.com/2009/07/mojo-monday-week-95.html

Ingredients (All SU! unless otherwise noted):
Baja Breeze CS, 5/8" striped grossgrain ribbon, Kiwi Kiss CS, Classic Ink, Urban Oasis DSP, Chocolate Chip CS, Classic Ink, To The Nines Specialty DSP, Mans Best Friend Stamp Set, Buttons from Forever in Time, Twine from unknown Source.

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge 10

Link here for all the other fabby entries and the details http://www.makeeshabyl.com.au/index.php/2009/07/10/inkspirations-sketch-challenge-10/ . Love the sketch! I realized this week I don't have enough masculine birthday cards, so in an attempt to remedy that, here this is! Check out the flame closely, I multilayered the stamp with Really Rust, Ruby Red and Barely Bananna to try to mimic a flame closer.

Ingredients (all SU! unless otherwise noted):
Barely Bananna CS, Classic Ink, Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink, CS, Ribbon from unknown source, Really Rust Classic Ink, Ruby Red CS, Classic Ink, Basic Grey Classic Ink, Ribbon from SU! I think it is Ridinghood Red (?!?)...I removed it....lovingly....from a cello bag I received, blue staples and DSP from Dollarama, Big Birthday Candle Stamp Set.
