Gatefold Sympathy Card

One of the things I really like about this card is the gatefold. Slip off the belly band, and you have the open card below.

Good morning everyone! I hope you've had a fabby long Easter weekend. Where we are, the kiddies get one more day off of school, and I have to say, it almost feels like summer here! 4 whole days of playing outside, biking, walking, doors open, lovely weather....can't wait until the summer holidays start! Whatever you've been doing this long Easter weekend, I hope you've been enjoying yourselves.

This card is one we'll be making at the "Spring is Blossoming" card class, held Fri. May 27 from 7:30-9:30 pm, and Sat. May 28 from 1-3 pm. (see sidebar on the right hand side) Come join us to make six cards (2 each of 3 designs) and a 12x12 scrapbook page! (btw, you can add any sentiment you want, I chose "With Sympathy" merely because when I need a sympathy card I don't feel like making one, so I appreciate having them on hand)

Ingredients: (All SU!)
River Rock CS, Whisper White CS, Not Quite Navy CS and Classic Ink, Baja Breeze CS, Basic Pearls, Paisley Petals DSP, Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set, Four Frames Stamp Set, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Decorative Label Extra Large Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, folding and belly band from the Stamipn' Success Mag February 2011.

SFF 041511

Morning everyone! I made this card for the Sketch Frenzy Friday Challenge. I thought I was being all that, and created a new technique for the Decorative Label Punch (see my sentiment, it's on an adapted Decorative Label Punch)...however when I was looking at the other SFF entries there was another person who did the same thing! Apparently I'm not so original! LOL! I must have seen it somewhere and kept it in my subconscious...

Hybrid Hair and Detox Spa

Check out Erin's car! A good friend of mine owns Hybrid Hair and Detox Spa, Kitchener-Waterloo's first green spa. Last fall she was looking through our Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue and saw our Decor Elements Sheets, and we started brainstorming on how she could use them. Well, Voila! I've cut tons leaves out of 1 sheet of each the Old Olive and Certainly Celery (each package comes with 2 sheets, and both sides of her car are done like this...so you can IMAGINE how much product actually comes in one package) Decor Elements, and she and her hubby applied them to the car. It's gone through one winter and several car washes, and still looks brand new!

Hope you enjoyed this card CAR post! ;o)

Tea Bag Gift Set

The pattern for this tea bag holder was created by Andrea Walford, though I've searched her site and can't seem to find the tutorial anywhere. It may have been in an email she sent out, and not on her site however. I changed up the papers and stamp set so I could practice with retired papers, but still love the end result! I had the tutorial in my stash for quite a bit, and decided to finally make it when I saw this weeks Our Creative Corner challenge theme, which is "It's a Tea Party!" Be sure to pop on over there to see the amazing Design Team samples, and the rest of the entries.

Ingredients: (All SU!, most retired ;o)

A Variation of the Watercolor Resist Technique

Hey all! I really loved the Watercolor Resist Technique we taught at the Techniques Stamp Camp, and was excited to come home and play with it. So, for this card, I stamped in StazOn, outlined in white crayon, watercolor painted a background wash (I used 3 colors this time for the background), HEAT EMBOSSED it, which dried it, AND melted away the crayon, so then I could color the teensy designs with my Stampin' Writes! What a perfectly elegant wedding or anniversary card!

Ingredients: (All SU! unless otherwise noted)
Pretty in Pink CS and Classic Ink, Melon Mambo CS, Classic Ink and Stampin' Write, Watercolor Paper, Bashful Blue Stampin' Write, Certainly Celery Stampin' Write, Aqua Painter, Always Elegant Stamp Set, DSP (retired), white crayon from my kidlets coloring box!

THX!

Morning friends! We've had a fantastic weekend here, the weather has been perfect for most of it (we did have a period of crazy heavy rain, hail, thunder and lightening Sunday morning, but it only lasted a short while :o), and I'm hoping it kicks off a great week! I went for lunch with an old friend I haven't seen in 15 years Sunday aft, and as I was driving off, I realized we were so busy chatting, I forgot to say thanks! So here it is....THX!

This card is pretty clean and simple for me...I know there are layers, but the lack of ribbons, distressing, and well, um STAMPS is not my usual style. I had fun making it, and love the sketch, which is from the Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge blog. Please pop on over there to check out what their design team has made with this sketch, and see the other entries! The colors are straight from the SU! My Color Coach, which I LOVE! I'm still not using the new In Colors very frequently, so every once in a while I pick it up and grab a color combo that I wouldn't think of on my own!

Hope you are all having a great day, and are looking forward to a fabby week!
Hugs,
Robbyn

Mmmmm....chocolate! (and yummy new stamps!)

Hey there! Ok, this is the treat my kiddos are getting in their lunch bags today. I know for some, it may not be a big deal, but my kids NEVER get treats like these in their lunch bags, and rarely get chocolate bars at all. I can't wait until they come home to tell me all about their surprise! (Don't get me wrong...my kids do eat junk food, it's just a really big treat to be allowed to buy a chocolate bar, so tomorrow will be super fun!) Anyway....I also got a treat in being able to make these little tags. My newest order arrived yesterday, and these 2 sets were in it. How YUMMY is that brand new Four Frames set stamped in Concord Crush? And the Tiny tags set I've been yearning for....mmmm! Love it! Hope you are all having a great day!
